Rohde & Schwarz signal generator upgrade tackles CDMA 1xEVDO

Rohde & Schwarz's latest software option for its RF and baseband signal generators makes it easy to generate signals in conformance with Rel. 0 and Rev. A of the CDMA 1xEV-DO standard.

Option R&S SMx-K47 is available for the R&S SMU200A, R&S SMJ100A, and R&S SMATE200A vector signal generators.

The R&S AMU200A baseband signal generator/fading simulator and the R&S AFQ100A IQ modulation generator can also be upgraded but the upgrade option is named the R&S AFQ-K247. Current owners of any of these instruments can add the option as well.

1xEV-DO Rev. A is an enhancement for improved data throughput rates in the CDMA2000 family and offers greater performance than its predecessor, 1xEV-DO Rel. 0.

Option R&S SMx-K47 allows the instruments to simulate four users in the downlink and four terminals in the uplink, allows the operator to select the physical layer subtype, and includes channel coding.

In the downlink, data rates are selectable along with rate index and packet size, traffic content can be defined, and a matrix allows flexible testing of reverse power control. Traffic and access modes are available for the uplink with different data rates and modulation selected automatically by payload size.

All of the instruments and options mentioned above a now available. More information is available at www.rohde-schwarz.com.
