Aimed at production and integration environments, an RF testing system can generate multiple radio signals to test connectivity and functional operation of wireless devices on manufacturing lines and in service/repair centers. The GSS5300 tester from Spirent Communications can perform simultaneous functional testing of two wireless-enabled devices with multiple RF interfaces, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM, and NFC.

The system allows users to specify, run, repeat, and modify test parameters such as power levels, channel assignments, frequencies and wireless standards. They can control the unit directly with an accessible graphical interface or remotely via command script. The GSS5300 enables repeatable testing against full signaling conditions, with the ability to determine RF transmitter/receiver operation. By following a parallel testing approach, customers can test multi-radio devices in shorter times, improving manufacturing line throughput.

The 19-inch rack-mounted instrument also operates with Spirent GNSS constellation simulators to test GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS technology. A library of sample scripts help users get started quickly. They can easily build and run test routines using preinstalled Spirant SimCHAN software.

Spirent’s GSS5300 multi-radio platform can be used with Spirent’s new GSS6300M multi-GNSS simulator, which enables testing of fundamental GNSS receiver functionality including time to first fix, sensitivity, and accuracy on the manufacturing line.
