Geotest PXI DMM doubles as waveform analyzer

Housed in a single-slot 3U PXI form factor, the GX2065 from Geotest is a 6½-digit digital multimeter that also operates as a 3-MHz, 16-bit isolated-input digitizer for acquiring and analyzing waveforms. The auto-ranging multimeter provides the same measurement functions as a standard bench DMM, including DCV, ACV, 2-wire and 4-wire resistance, and current measurements. It can be used for such applications as automated production testing, portable field test, semiconductor and component testing, and laboratory automation.

The GX2065 measures 1 µV to 300 V with basic DCV reading accuracy of 0.005% and reading rates of up to 3500 readings/s. All measurement functions, as well as digitizing functions, are isolated from the PXI bus to allow true differential, floating measurements. Built-in analysis and waveform functions include RMS, average, peak to peak, and peak to average. Up to 8192 samples can be stored in the digitizer’s memory.

Software supplied with the GX2065 includes a virtual instrument panel and Windows 32-bit/64-bit driver libraries for ATEasy, LabView, LabView/Real-Time, C/C++, Visual Basic, Linux 32/64, Delphi, and Pascal. The virtual panel can be used to interactively adjust and control the DMM from a window that displays the instrument’s current settings and measurements. Compatible drivers for the Signametrics SMX2040 and SMX2060 DMMs are also furnished, allowing users to upgrade existing applications to the GX2065.
