Virtual worlds could end up making valuable contributions to society, according to Cory Ondrejka, co-creator of Second Life, an online virtual world with over 13 millions users. Ondrejka recently spoke at the Freescale Technology Forum (June 16-19, 2008, Orlando, Fla.) about the economic and technological impact of virtual worlds. Ondrejka, who left Second Life in December 2007 and resurfaced this month as a senior vice president at EMI, claims that in the future virtual worlds will become so accurate that they can be used to try out business strategies without the risk of real world experiments.
