A new era of digital signage has begun. There are so many new companies about. One I heard about that is local to me is http://www.digitalsignage.net/ which got me wondering how many digital signage companies exsist and how good is digital signage?

I would like a digitalsign that says:

Obamas’ two goals:

1. A new pledge of allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to Obama,
Ruler of the United States of America,
and to his associates for whom he stands.
One nation, under Obama, indivisible,
With liberty and justice for Democrats.

2. A new “high 5” greeting; with right hand raised chant:

Obama Rules!

Goal 2 could be a moving hand that raises and
then the message "Obama Rules!" would flash on.

These signs could be posted along highways and
smaller versions posted in public schools, Libraries, and Churches.

Gentlemen, please keep our plitical viewes to other blogs. The topic is real and has other merits that are worth of a more in depth discussion and meaninful discussion.

There are many instances that having the correct information allows me to avoid a flying connection, taking the correct exit in the highway, and reach the operating schedule of a great bistro.

In my hometown, most of those choices are almost automatic, but in foreign land or during domestic business trips those are real issues.

Please stay focus in topic.

This is why the "Electronic Chairman" was invented! (See the "NXP Cortex-MO LPC1100 design competition" elsewhere on the eetimes.com website, for more information.)

DigitalSignage, to give you a more serious answer to your question, how good is digital signage, did you know that in many communities they are considered nuisances, and are regulated by zoning? The reason is, many of the new ones are extremely bright. Out in suburban areas, they can temporarily blind drivers. And imagine having one down the street from you: it's like having a search light aimed at your house all night. If I were designing one, I would include a more effective automatic night-time brightness adjustment.
