Security would be a big issue for cloud technology. What do you think? Further, it gonna need way more bandwidth.

Security is a concern whether you do something in-house or in the cloud. Which one has a bigger security risk to address will depend on the capabilities of your internal staff. In many situations, the people running the cloud computing environment have more expertise in securing a computing environment and you will get a more secure system out-of-the-box by using the cloud.

Bandwidth considerations depend on what you are doing in the cloud and how the application is designed. You will also need to consider latency if the cloud computing environment is located a significant distance from the primary users.

I agree with @Mark, the security of the information would likely be better at the server end than at the PC end. Investments in securing the data will be considerably more than what the average user can afford for their PC. The transmission of the data is currently a problem, and will continue to require security controls.

I recently saw a story about how easy it is for a person to setup a fake "free public access point" at an airport and how quickly people connected to it assuming it belonged to the airport. He was then able to access all the files on the users computer.

The data security in a clound environment can be compared with a bank locker. Your valuables are more safe in a bank locker than in your own home. Similarly the cloud service providers will have a minimum data security cover to protect your data from the intruders. You can supplement this service level agreements which bind the service provider legally for providing data security and data privacy.
