@lowfreq:  First get the COOCOX tool chanin and try that -- it will provide some answers -- assuming you are using windows.

I have used the ARM tool chain (Launchpad) and eclipse for the editor successfully -- but I used Cygwin for the compiles due to the makefiles only running correctly under cygwin (or mingw).

I left some info on the first days nortes re coocox. with links.
