@Duane: I still use Studio 4.19 on XP.  Will be using it in an hour.  Studio 7 is too bloated.

For arm I am considering going to Eclipse and the gcc tools which run on 'Nix oses like the macs I use.  I like Kiel tools, and have an 8051 licence from a decades old project.  

I think these tool companies need to change thier model, instead of big Goverment $$$ contracts, they need to sell tools at a reasonable and fair price.
