Jeff.Rochow: Automotive first tier plants build diffeent product variants too, based on a broadcast from the main assembly plant. Most are just-in-time plants, 4 hours from order to delivery (paint is usually drying on the vehicle...they order the components from the first tier when they are "sure" they are going to build it that day).
