yes - the ACE supports both 3GPP and WiFi.  octoScope also has some channel emulation technology that i will mention in the next couple of days.

Right - MIMO for base stations, SISO for clients (unless you can afford MIMO) - is typically best

The Azimuth ACE had a complete implementation of standards based channel models, most of which are based on cluster statistics.

MIMO techniquest are chanbel dependent and must be dynamic.  The fast response to changing channel conditions is essential.

CDMA handles multipath using the 'rake receiver' techniques.  The widest CDMA channel is 5 MHz.  OFDM can span today over 100 MHz.

Regarding slide 5, fading is typically frequency selective, so some sub-carriers may be much weaker than others when the signal gets to the receiver.  The data is encoded in such a way as to be detectable even if some subcarriers are missing in the receiver.  Coding techniques are a very sophisticated part of the baseband DSP.

The APs can dynamically steer the beam to individual receivers and they can also create complex beams composed of multiple lobes - one for each receiver.

MIMO algorithms are usually 'secret soace' of the chipset manufacturers, and often their chipsets will work better with their own chipsets than with other chipsets.
