This is truly the forefront of technology, using a non-contact aerosol printer by Optomac instead of the usual conventional screen printing to produce thinner silicon wafers, not only resulting in reducing the cost of producing solar cells but also bringing a more than 2 per cent increase in efficiency of the solar cells. Optomec’s claim that its 40-nozzle aerosol jet deposition head can print a solar cell in less than three seconds is also a revolutionary feat. This could greatly impact printing and silicon solar cell production businesses everywhere. Printing companies in PA and printing companies in NY should pick up on this new technology.
