Neo: All the server players are becoming more integrated selling bundles of computers, network gear, storage and software wrapped in services. The microprocessors are more and more incidental, but its good to see Oracle is giving Sparc a future.
While I applaud Oracles efforts as far as Sparc goes, I don't expect them making any comeback to Sun's former glory days. Those days are simply over for Sun. I really don't know what Oracle was thinking when it bought Sun, do they want to do an Apple in server space?
I am not saying that Sparc will vanish but it's technology will most probably get absorbed in to the mainstream CPUs through other channels or keep selling in to some legacy buyers like universities and research centers.
