Given the amount of small portable devices nowadays, there are so many speakers hanging around. Audio processing algorithms, seemingly only for huge home theatre system, are definitely useful in this case.

PurePath studion is very cool. Drag and Drop DSP programming of the TLV320AIC3254 for a variety of algorithms. You should check it out if you do any audio processing.

Great overview. Regarding Bass boost (p.2), I used to believe that psychoacoustics-based bass enhancers needed at least two harmonics generated, the second and the third, in order to be any effective. Is just a frequency-doubling in the low-Hz region "good enough"? I guess myself that the answer depends on the application... like hearing aids or cell phones versus portable media players, etc.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
