I wonder if this is from the acquisition of Teridian, 78M6618 product line. Maxim bought Teridian about 4 months ago for $300M.
The 6618 product supports various current sensor technologies including current transformers (CT), resistive Shunts and Rogowski coils. Looks like Maxim may be offering a lite version of this product.
I doubt if the offering is a new spin of the TINI-interface capable chip that Maxim inherited from its Dallas Semi acquisition.
