Boasting that they will have chips that cost less and yet are as powerful as Intel chips will either make or break them. If they manage to perform, I am pretty sure they will be launched into the top companies in the world. An ARM server start up like this would find it hard to dethrone Intel, but if it does, what a story it will be. Paul - http://www.connetu.com

Any decent RoboMaid is going to need multicores... even more so once voice recognition is required to figure out what the dog wants.

It's nice to see this product/marketconvergence is happening that Intel moves down to small form factors with Atom and ARM moves to the space of Big guys recently. However, from teh biz prespective, I think many big companies would not be in the line for an ARM based server in their critical applications. Reliability, and scalability that Intel based servers have gained over years will take also some good years to be replaced by new entries like ARM. The big diference is that unlike the micro electronics and mobile market, in the Server market the CPU price is not the main factor for decision making.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
