Really cool technology. This kind of machine-human interface was not thought to be affordable now but this company has proved it. I would love to know the way they planned and executed this thing and Im sure there will be loads of very valuable lessons they would have learnt.

That is damn impressive stuff; sounds similar to the kind of technology movie-makers pay $$$$ for, crammed down into consumer-grade chips. Very clever.

Yeh, I am also interested if there is any related patent or papers for the PrimeSense chip above.

Impressive amount of silicon this gizmo has. NEC, AD, TI, Wolfson, etc. Vendors from all over the world! But at the heart of it all, the PS1080! A 3D image processor. Resolution to the cm in depth! resolution to the millimeter in X/Y! Impressive! really impressive! I wonder if it would be possible to know how many years or months all these took to be developed? I'm not talking about the time Microsoft took to get the Kinect rolling but of the time it took PrimeSense to develop the technology. Anybody?

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
