What about the former Qimonda fab in Richmond Virginia that is now owned by Richmond Semiconductor, that 300mm FAB is empty. How come there's no interest on any of the big players on buying it? That Fab is pretty new... just wondering why no one wants to buy it....

@Himanshu TSMC has alrady plans to have 450mm wafer avaliable for their new fabs at 22nm or even lower sizes in respond to intels move.

will TSMC build 450mm wafer fab in near future? Intel has already announced it, i wonder who will follow?

TSMC and Globalfoundries look like they will be the big two in silicon foundries. The rest will be falling behind and only survive if they are in niche products.
