This article is a must-read for anyone in the industry planning not only for business success, but responsible EMC design practices. A medical device that is planned with experts from conception to implementation will keep in mind the EMI standards held the world over. Kimmel and Gerke do an excellent job of reminding folks to plan the project with enough time so that standards are met at the onset and that the testing period is given ample attention. All of the tips ensure success because you have enough time for the unexpected and include discovery time to create innovation. I would love to see some comments about successful medical device projects where these guidelines were used.
