Steve Jobs' impact on consumer electronics and computing is staggering. In addition to the Apple products, he has provided a user interface role model for others to copy and emulate thereby making Windows (and many other products) better as well. Who else among us can shift the stock market futures index with a health setback? I wish him a quick recovery. I can't wait to see what he'll bring us for his encore.

this the recent tech big news for all the web and forums. I believe that Apple is not the same without Jobs but his temporary absence will not affect apple much especially when there is no major product launch.

You cannot rule out a drop in Apple's stock, when Steve does retire. But of course this drop should be short term as I believe Apple will still be able to deliver great products. However, we cannot under-rate the value of Steve Jobs to Apple ... he really does make a difference. I pray for his health and hope to see him back at Apple soon.

maybe it's time for Jobs to consider his religious choice. Budda sth seems not quite a bless to him, or his health. should try something more mainstream?

There are quite a number of speculation that once Jobs retires, Apple stock will crash. Similar speculation was done on Microsoft before Gates retired from Microsoft. Did Microsoft stock crash? Corporation is supposed to be tolerant to the dependency to 1 person, at least to a successful one. I have no doubt that a transition has to happen to a "young" company like Apple. I wish Apple will last for multiple generations just like any other real big corporations.

Apple under Steve Jobs is a perfect example why a benevolent dictatorships is the most effective managerial style. I pray to see him back soon.
