mark.lapedus: I have nothing against PCM. I have quite a bit against the perpetrators of the longest-running TechnoPonzi scheme and their willing and unwilling collaborators. As some have said, PCM = Phantom-change memory or phony-change memory.

Never heard of the Unity Semiconductor. If they had gone, I might not have noticed. Nonetheless, Micron is smart to snap one - hope it is a good value.

Micron trying to cover with investment in NOR, PCM and CMOX. I think their confidence in NAND and DRAM is faltering. CMOX is even more one-off than (other) RRAM.

Volatile Memory, Micron is embracing Unity's RRAM. That is news to me. What do you have against PCM?

Actually, Mr. Niebel is mistaken. Numonyx (now Micron) was supposed to have the 45nm 1-Gbit thing by mid 2009: http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4191577/Numonyx-confirms-45-nm-jump-for-phase-change-memory Of course, Micron had already determined (and declared so publicly) in 2004 that PCM does not scale, 10 years after signing that exclusive royalty-bearing license for the PCM patents. So, what's news?
