I agree- switch to 4G seeme to be the next step. Might as well delay deployment till your best 4G stuff is ready...

An educated guess here: With the wireless basestation market moving quickly to 4G products, maybe one of the basestation vendors cancelled some orders related to 3G products, or delayed them for coming 4G products.

@KB3001- unfortunately, I don't know what customer rescheduled its order. I looked at some analyst reports and did not find any speculation on that one. But if anyone has any theories, I'd also be keen to know them.

Which large European customer in the wireless communications market rescheduled its order from Xilinx? Does anyone know?

Achronix is not ready and when it does, Xilinx could be in a major problem.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
