Francys left Olin after her sophomore year and has completely dropped of the face of the earth, as far as I, and everyone I know at Olin knows. She has a Facebook account but doesn't use it. -Olin alum

Francys seems to be doing fine, and living in Portola Valley. She appears as "Thanks to" in the closing credits for a documentary movie "Under the Boardwalk" that came out last year. I'm sure she will call you one of these days.

Indeed, Rich. You would think tracking down someone with a distinctively spelled first name would be a snap and that as a 20-something she'd be all over Facebook, but apparently not. Next stop is her high school.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
