To me, the NFC sounds like an technology waiting to find a valid application.

Thanks to NFC technology and smartphones NXP is back to stage. Especially apples move for iPhone5 with integrated nfc chip, they got back their prestige. Not only at cars but almost everywhere we are going to hear more about NFC and behind Nxp

That would be cool thing. Instead of having a separate key for a car, this definitely makes sense. Just one device for all .... mobile

Interesting, but most of this was done with Bluetooth some time ago by http://www.autotxt.com/. NFC should could make it a bit more secure & slick though.

It is coming. More gadgets in the car. NFC is evolving to become an industry next standard and could be very disruptive even to the credit card companies.
