re: Android to reach 140 million units in 2011

It is important to note that the iOS installed base was already at 160 million at the end of last year with 125 million of those sold in 2010 alone. With Apple taking 82.7% of the mobile app market by income ($1.7 billion) versus Google coming in 4th after Blackberry and Ovi at a meager 4.3% with only $102 million, iOS continues to be the number one development target for developers by far. -Mart

Agreed, that's hilarious! A person might wince, or even cringe, at this no-win situation.

Warren, I think NoWin is the most appropriate new term I've heard since Wince. You get a gold star today.

Selinz, who is "WinMo" (MS & Motorola)? Is Motorola really even trying in the Win7 department? Most interesting I think will be what traction and how quickly for WinNo, er, NoWin? :) I absolutely don't view HP/WebOS as out of the game by a long stretch. No doubt dealing with 200 or 300 million units of installed base for the competition (EO'11) will be rough but they do have some serious experience and real (biz) customers from their previous endeavors to help smooth things out some.

It will be interesting to see if WinMo can get some traction. Since no Palm stuff has made an appearence since HP's aquisition, can we assume they are gone?

Android based device is really hot now. It's not too difficult to predict the shipment will ramp up rapidly in 2011. Yet, what is so special of Android based device that will make the portable TV thrives? Portable TV was first launched by Sony years back and it didn't get anywhere. Is portable TV the drivers for Android based device? Or it is something else.
