Built hybrids for down hole applications in the late 1970's. Useful life within parts spec temps thousands of hours, useful life where they were going 10's of hours. They were replacing less capable discreet circuits with life in hours. If you gain understanding of the silicon you are using and how it was processed you find some can do very well at extreme temps. We were convinced that our end of life was actually solid state diffusion because we were sure we had junction temps up where the devices were fabricated. Success came from understanding what happened at temp, planning for it and designing for a graceful and predictable end of life. When you have your customer placing your electronics where a failure costs them tens of thousands of dollars, providing them electronics with a very predictable life even if short brings a very good price.
Interesting postscript - the company changed hands and the new ownership just could not handle the concept of being part of that high performance risk environment even though our customer lived in that environment all day every day. They took us out of that business into nice comfortable spec controlled work and were surprized that the profits went down.
Both parts (INA333-HT and AD8229) specifiy 210C for 1000 hours.
TI has four high temperature (210C / 175C) in-amps released, packaged or in known-good-die.
INA128-HT (this one is up to 175C)
INA271-HT (current-shunt monitor)
I just remembered another high-temp active-component vendor: Cissoid of Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium, www.cissoid.com. They have discrete transistors and MOSFETs, for example, that are fully sped'd to 225degC.
Thanks for the comments. I am surprised that a leading vendor would make a claim that is not correct, against an easily checked data sheet spec from a competitor. Some more investigation is needed, but let's keep the lawyers out of it, please!
More important, the list of other hi-temp ICs shows that extreme design is alive and well, and an area of interesting activity. There's more to engineering than low-cost, high-volume consumer products,

This is interesting article. We had a customer a few years ago making earth moving equipment. The electronics had to be able to withstand +200C operating tempratures under the hood while the ambinet temp. was about +50C. We couldn't qualify at that extreme. On the other hand a downhole company used the devices in a totally out of spec. application. They expected the devices to last less than a day - they typically lasted a coupled of weeks before giong bad.
