No, I don't think so. They are trying to be all things to all people which in the end isn't a strategy that works. Samsung is successful as it focuses on the high end and serving the big volume applications. Micron is focused mostly on this too and in the end I think us "little guys" end up falling off their radar, redarless of what their news states. Reading further on their site it seems they are leaving some pretty big loopholes in their new committment. "The PLP is not a commitment to a static product, nor is it a guarantee of supply. Micron reserves the right to exclude certain products and customers from eligibility for the PLP."

but the name is very interesting. i thought that was a product from walmart. Longevity for micron? Not too cool

Does this mean that Micron is admitting defeat in the technology race with Samsung, and focusing more on low-tech nich products?

It's good to see Micron taking the embedded market seriously. Others memory providers, especially in NOR, have been doing this for years now.
