I better get a couple of crates in ready for you guys! Seriously though Glen, well done and "good on ya!" as the natives say down here.

Many thanks for naming moi as EE Life Contributor of the Year. Will add this to my resume :-) And like Frank, if I ever win a lottery and visit Australia will look up David and buy him a few beers and swap stories.

Thanks for the compliment (I'll take it as such!) Frank - much appreciated. And congrats on your award - very well merited. If you're ever in Australia, it will be my pleasure to buy you a beer or three...

Don, it was great meeting you too, and quite a bit of fun! And thanks again to the EE Times staff for their hospitality. One of these days I hope to visit Australia so I can hang out with David Ashton!

Brian, You are too kind which brings me to the point. This is a public thank you for the great dinner since you picked up the check. It was a great time meeting so many EE Times editors including yourself in person for the first time. But the even bigger treat was being able to connect with a devoted EE Times community member. Let me reiterate your point that Frank rocked the house. What a great time! Let me wrap up with one final comment. With the description you gave of me, people are going to start to think I have my own PR staff. But who needs it when EE Times editors are so complimentary? Looking forward to the next time (and not just for trading sunny, warm San Jose for Ottawa). Don

Thanks Brian, it really was an honor to meet all of you in person and to share stories. Note to self -- reporters are always "on" and everything is quotable :)

NEXT UPCOMING BROADCAST
In conjunction with unveiling of EE Times’ Silicon 60 list, journalist & Silicon 60 researcher Peter Clarke hosts a conversation on startups in the electronics industry. One of Silicon Valley's great contributions to the world has been the demonstration of how the application of entrepreneurship and venture capital to electronics and semiconductor hardware can create wealth with developments in semiconductors, displays, design automation, MEMS and across the breadth of hardware developments. But in recent years concerns have been raised that traditional venture capital has turned its back on hardware-related startups in favor of software and Internet applications and services. Panelists from incubators join Peter Clarke in debate.
