The second circuit with split windings for reduced capacitance reverses the dots. This would make this a forward converter, not flyback. Is that intentional or just bit of a mishap?

Robert, nice article (and the tps61175 is a nice chip!). What can you tell us about the PA3392NL transformer? Google doesn't seem to reveal anything about that p/n.

It is a good article for the applications where the voltage is being boosted-up. Utilizing this paracitic would be even greatful theme.

Turns ratio reflected impedance to the primary is increased, not reduced, by the turns ratio. This includes capacitive reactance. You should pull this article before the misinformation spreads too widely. RL

The 1 watt waste for a 4W supply is amazing. Thanks for a good basic article with enough technical information to be useful. This will help in the decision process for the next set of power supplies we select.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
