I wonder how this will improve the life of the phone including the power implications. The biggest problem with smart phones now is battery power. Most people have to have car chargers and wall chargers if they plan to get through the day with a smart phone. Possibly phones will become as thin as ipad 2's some day because of this technology.
Wow - this means some startups are going to be in trouble now. It is always a risk not to sell early because very soon the big companies will try the idea. this is something really cool and some of these suppliers will be out.

Perhaps they did not really integrate because there are a few choices of touch screen to combine with diffrent choices of LCD displays. Perhaps nowdays the integrated offer will only include capacitive touch screen? And if the touch screen has problem, is it easy o replace or we need to replace the LCD also?
