Most assuredly correct. And they backed the wrong horse in selecting MIPS for their 32bit devices.

One more factor is....growth of ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers. Microchips mcu business is about to decline by these little giants.

Back-to-school will help some manufacturers and retailers, but back-to-work (lower unemployment) would help a lot more!

Isn't this the time when back to school leads to nice revenue growths and reduction of stockpile of inventories? This taken in conjunction with the Fabs lower than expected earnings speaks of lackluster mid year and has ominous signs if continued. Some economists have been warning of the faltering of economic recovery, which I am afraid is very scary when clubbed with the uncertainity in EU over Greece and the earthquakes in Japan.
