Sony's $200,000 contest to encourage development of innovative applications for their new tablet computer is a small investment to encourage developers to build applications for the Sony platform. What remains to be seen is whether this will encourage new apps to be built or simply migrate a few iPad / iPhone apps to a new platform (with the option of including Flash capabilities).

If I understand the Adobe AIR platform correctly then it seems like these would need to be media-intensive apps rather than typical stuff. I have to admit that it is tempting to me to try my hand at it. Larry M.
