I was in the beginning of my Amateur Radio "life" sputnik and OSCAR-1 were thrilling. Today, still an active Ham, I have my satellite antennas ready for ARISSat-1. Sounded great on the test, looking forward to some QSOs and pictures. Hat's off to the ARISSat Team, well done. de WF6J
1961 i was 5 years boy playing toys. Oscar 1 in the space in 1962 ! Those days all popular with vacumtubes triode,tetrode,pentode. Solid state was rare.Those instruments in the picture all heavy and rock solid.real strong design and fabrication work!
ARISSat-1 is scheduled to be deployed from the International Space Station (ISS) this Wednesday August 3rd (Morning in the US). The extra-vehicular activity (EVA) schedule is (all times UTC):
1430 : Hatch Open
1446 : Egress ARISSat-1 and secure to airlock ladder
1452 : Remove ARISSat-1 solar panel covers
1507 : Translate to deploy site, activate ARISSat-1 PWR, TIMER1 and TIMER2 switches, verify LEDs on, and deploy
