As he said, it would be a very hard job. To turn AMD around in less than a few years would be a miracle. It will be fun to watch.

Rick, a good article. I just felt that I'm reading an article of movie celebrity interview. I mean the way reporters poke them about all their relation ships. But I just understand it is not any different. Business is business and i feel he may be the right hero for the movie (AMD).

I suspect there are a at least a few engineers out there who remember having both AMD and Intel databooks above their desks. I hope both companies are able to remain healthy into the future and thrive, elicting benefits from their unique sets of talents.

Rick I agree with you, Abhi is the right choice for this post. Looking at his replies I guess he is seriously considering taking up this post. Any idea when will AMD take final call on this ?

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
