Seems to require a radiator at 400 degrees centigrade or more, so not going to get much power from body heat etc. I could not see a comparison of efficiency (electrical power out / heat power in) for this system vs the current steam based systems.

Wow converting heat to electricity sounds exciting. I am sure this technology will have wide variety of new applications. New technologies like this helps semiconductor industry growing.

Seebeck effect ... I used to play around with this years ago but found it to be not very efficient. MTPV sounds exciting

NASA and DARPA are already funding the research of devices powered by body heat. And I personally had the idea of powering cars using body fat, this way you solve the energy and obesity problems at the same time, at least in the US.:)

There are plenty of remote site, and third-world applications (where sunlight is abundant) that could benefit of higher efficiency photovoltaic cells. I would like to see this natural resource used as much as possible, and bring progress to those forgotten places.

How about person fueled portable devices? Using the heat generated by the wearer to power the iWhatevers.. I would also think that geothermal, solar, other bio-fuels might be used to heat and generate electricity.. I wonder what temps are needed, how efficient, and how expensive to made these devices are??

If efficiency is high enough, the potential of the final product is huge. Not only is it applicable to converting CPU heat or thermal generated by server into energy but also to transform solar heat to power household. It can also transform heat generated by automobile engine to power headlight or any electronics. What a great idea? Any more infos are welcome.
