Congrats. I hope to see EE Times have an Africa version. I truly mean it. A partnership with a tech blog focused on EE could help. I recommend tekedia.com which is #1 in Africa on electronics and tech coverage.

Thank you for your really kind words. We couldn't have pulled this off without a passionate production team (we do have the best copy chief and the best art director), an editorial team who really cared about the subject matter (literally every single EE Times editor contributed to this issue, and each went for extra miles to get the story), and a vision our CEO had in suggesting a special issue. And of course, we thank our readers who took their time to read the issue!

As usual, Frank is right. The special issue on Japan was just that. With so many cheap awards (many just glorified advertising), it's nice to see deserving folks getting some credit.

What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
