He was up to million channels on his PC, and all with a cats-whisker diode he had chitted out of stores and a tuning capacitor. Phase B would be integration of the remote into the arm of the BarcaLounger.

I asked the old man to look into the DECLINE of yield and noted that popcorning was observed with the chips, lending speculation that this may have happened when we changed over to using IR at our remote facility in Pisa.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
