I wonder what chaos will be triggered when sunlight passes across this screen. With objects between the screen and the sun casting shadows, there might be some very interesting outcomes.

If you have a display as a table with four people sat around all touching the screen and moving images by drag and drop...... 4 people times 2 hands times 5 fingers = 40 contact points.

Samsung is embedding an infra-red sensor to each pixel for improving touch sensitivity. It's an interesting idea although I haven't figure out the benefit. Nonetheless, there is a challenge to the implementation. Will the heat generated in the surroundings, which include the internal electronics, affect the detection? Nonetheless, if these infra-red sensor is replaced with CCD, the application areas will be tremendous.

It could maybe detect where you are sitting to optimise 3d images and stereo audio. Your Tv now watching you!

Interesting - I know this company as one of scale and not of innovation. But let us see how this goes.

@agk ... if each pixel has a sensor , then scanning an image wont be that difficult ...

Maybe it can scan images, like camera function.
