I guess for medical devices, the market forces alone is not enough to tell which device would be easily commercialized. However, it begs the question: is it correct to commercialise the medical industry to a point where if a needed medical device is created but not enough people use it, it will be phased out of the market altogether? What of the people who truly need it, but are in such small numbers that do not justify mass production?

I have to help the poor clinicians manage ill fitting medical equipment after purchase; it's a huge challenge. Hopefully more manufacturers will use this system to identify and help solve the correct issues.
