SciFi has looked exhausively at this issue and almost every scenario comes out bad for the people frozen and the people who unfreeze them. Instead of getting away from the present, they should spend their time enjoying what we have. There are no guarantees about the future. You have a 50% chance that things will be better and an equal chance that they could be worse. Why take the gamble?

One really hard question: has anybody ever been thawed and come out alive? Has anybody evaluated the degree of freezer burn that the frozen develop? Has the IRS decided that the yearly expenses keeping these folks frozen constitute income? Just think about waking up and finding that you owe $5Million income tax! And my final question is about what sort of research is actually being done to develop an unfreezing process that works.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling.
