Mea culpa Sylvie, I stopped on page 5!...this happened to me several times on EE Times pages, too many clicks!
When Siri works in other languages it will be a good tool to learn them by having live and context aware conversations! Kris
Kris.... Siri wasn't last! It was 4th on my list of 10! Hopefully you didn't stop reading after page 5... ;)
As for whether Siri will work in other languages, I'm sure it eventually will. I expect Spanish and French will likely be first.
You left the best for last Sylvie, Siri is clearly the winner here in my mind...is Apple planning to have Siri working in other languages? do they have enough power in their data centers to accommodate millions of people that will eventually use Siri? Kris
Thanks for a great article! I enjoyed reading about the various innovations and could only dream of the next year's changes. It seems that battery life is a major player in the mobile field and not likely to go away any time soon. It is interesting to me how the number of processors is increasing and yet I have not seen "that killer app" that is the driving force behind the increased performance. Am I missing something? Video on demand, web surfing, voice/email all are supported now what is pushing the processing engine? Is it just "mine is faster than yours" or "mine has more processors than yours"? I love the speed and performance but is it needed versus extended battery life?
I believe that will depend on where. In the US, I don't expect Nokia or Microsoft to crack the market in 2012 (though depending on how this year goes, they could be a strong competitor in 2013). In Europe and Asia, however, where Nokia is still a strong brand name, yes, I believe they could really compete with their latest offerings. I played with the HTC Radar 4G recently, and I really liked it.
