We are going digital, dissolving into bits of information into the virtual world from which we seek everlasting happiness and eternalism.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Brian. As a relatively recent owner of an ipad I found it has totally changed my life and quite to the contrary has allowed me more pause and reflection. I use it as personal journal where I can record everything from inspirations and goals to precious moments in my life. I can easily take the time to 'hero worship' by reading tweets from people that inspire me (follow me for inspiring quotes tasctasctasc). Best of all I can do all these anywhere!

Thanks for such a great article here. I was searching for something like this for quite a long time and at last I’ve found it on your blog. It was definitely interesting for me to read about web applications and their market situation nowadays. thanks one more time and keep posting such nice ones in the nearest future too.http://mccs1977.com/

I would suggest that the "portability" of the internet has fundamentally changed society. The internet was a wonderful resource, but was constrained by the access terminals (desktop computers) and availability of access outside the immediate area. The ability to essentially "bring the internet with you" wherever you go, enabled by more portable laptops, smart devices and high speed wireless networks, changes the way we interact as a society. Walk through a shopping mall and look at what people are doing. Many will be immersed in their internet world or communicating with a distant "someone". Watching a table full of teenagers (or even sometimes adults) at a food court, interfacing with the outside world instead of the people right next to them, is truly amazing.

With everything happening at a click of a mouse we are left with a lot of time to pause and reflect and think! But there is hardly anything left to think because for every thought, every doubt, every query that comes to our mind there is always something available a click or two away to quench that curiosity, that confusion, that urge to express, that urge to see, that urge to listen!

One person that has really inspired me to take moments out of this crazy information age and focus on what's really important is Robin Sharma. Unfortunately it is not really an information revolution. It is a DATA revolution, and to have much value the data must be first condensed into knowledge, which then must be interpreted to gain insite and understanding, which are what do have a lot of value.
