Just found Max's column, so sorry for the slow response. The site is non-biased in its editorial content, as you probably can see by now since it's three months old. NXP has the only commercial content on the site, but editorial content is wide open.
@ams0178 - I'll be one of the regular bloggers on the site. I don't have any direct connection with any microcontroller manufacturers. In my day job, I work for Screaming Circuits where we assemble prototypes that include chips from pretty much anyone. There's a lot of tribal knowledge about layout and build traps, especially with the newer smaller form factors, that I'll be passing on.
My personal microcontroller activities are PIC heavy, but that's just because I'm used to them. I'll be looking at development boards and MCUs from other manufacturer's as well. Generally I buy them or get them as hand-outs at tradeshows but I'll certainly make it clear if anything I write about has been given to me.
It will be interesting to discuss the effective asymmetric dual core implementations of users with the LPC43xx. The chip has a smoking hot internal bus architecture, and they provided only the bare bones for core inter-work (which is good :)
So how much will a direct relationship to a microcontroller manufacturer distort the info on the new site? Would be nice to have a non-biased site with a community that discussed all processors, Atmel, TI, Microchip, NXP, Freescale, etc...
I have immediately registered onto this site and would love to be an active reader and contributor to this site.I am sure, with such a huge international community involved into micro controller related development , this site will soon have a rich content and large following.
Lets hope this site akes off. The key thing will be what content is available. I for one want to know about user experiences with evaluation boards and tools. For example, what issues you had to overcome so I can avoid them!
