Coupled with downturn, there is also the margin erosion in some of now mature packaging technologies. The Jan 2012 book to bill ration is not encouraging this either! MP Divakar

Considering that the semiconductor industry has been in a downturn, I don't think it's surprising to see Amkor's sales slipped a bit in Q4. As far as cutting jobs, the company seems to be very focused on reducing costs.
