Prabhakar, Cell phone companies have been showing projectors since 2009 so that's an easy feature to add to a tablet, of course the immediate challenge is battery life with such a feature. I'm on my keyboard constantly and therefore am not attracted to a tablet even with a portable keyboard because then it's a 'wanna-be' laptop.

One of the limitations of a tablet as I see it, is its limited screen size. If someone can develop a tablet which is like a miniature hand held projector then the image can be focused on any size viewable screen, wall or paper and that will increase its application areas many fold

A good number of applications for tablets are listed here. This article also again shows that the tablet market is going to boom.

To say that Andy Weir's The Martian is an exploration of math, Mars, and feces is a slight simplification. I doubt that the author would have any complaints, though.
