Increased features, same price. I bet their margins are still very high compared to their competitors.

Cool, they are still keeping the things at the edge. Guess what, the IPads will drive the momentum of tablet growth for the next 5 years at least. The Laptops will kind of become redundant and obsolete down the road.

Because the chip is called the A5X, not an A6, the CPU cores are certainly ARM Cortex-A9, as was used in the A5. An upgrade to the A15 core would certainly qualify for a major name change. Based on Apple's own descriptions, the graphics cores are almost certainly PowerVR SGX 543MP4, very similar to the quad core GPU as in the Playstation Vita. Imagination Technology insist that Rogue (Series6) will be out later in the year.

The statement "on the web most images are sized at 72 dpi" is meaningless unless you know the dpi of your display, and displays are not standard. I have a 22" computer monitor that I drive at 1600 X 1200, which gives 91 dpi. I expect to view an iPad far closer to my eyes than a computer monitor, so I would expect the higher resolution of the new iPad to give a real improvement in picture quality. I can't wait to see one. Also, I want it for viewing photographic images, not just web pages.

Actually I do detect pixelation on the iPad2 screen. I think the distance from which you view the iPad is where your eyes are most sensitive.

Gaming is becoming a big business for the tablet market. Having a retina display on the new iPad would give Apple a much competitive product than other portable game devices such as the newly debuted Sony PS Vita and other smartphones. If you look at the screens of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, you would have noticed the immense details that the retina display can give you, especially for games.

How about CPU architecture? A9 or A15? Dual Core or Quad Cores?
