That's unusual -- it's more common for me to find myself out there alone ... :-)

I have the Sony SRS-BTM30 speakers which I'm happy with but they are NLA from Sony and are getting harder to find. Sony has replaced them with something twice as expensive (~$200) that don't sound much better to me.

I do like the sound of the Bose systems I've heard ... but they are way too expensive for my pocket...

The Bose has a good reputation. I quite like the thought of the Bluetooth one. http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/digital_music_systems/sounddock_systems/index.jsp

I'm thinking both -- on deck (especially if friends are round) or in the front room sometimes if it's just me listening

Harsh words :-) I'm sure you are correct for a music afficionado ... but when it comes to my untrained ear the sound from the iPad is good enough for me

Those are nice speakers. I like the logitech but they seem a bit ugly. Hopefully they have a dock for my iPad http://detectapple.com/1-million-ipads-estimated-to-be-sold-friday/

NEXT UPCOMING BROADCAST
In conjunction with unveiling of EE Times’ Silicon 60 list, journalist & Silicon 60 researcher Peter Clarke hosts a conversation on startups in the electronics industry. One of Silicon Valley's great contributions to the world has been the demonstration of how the application of entrepreneurship and venture capital to electronics and semiconductor hardware can create wealth with developments in semiconductors, displays, design automation, MEMS and across the breadth of hardware developments. But in recent years concerns have been raised that traditional venture capital has turned its back on hardware-related startups in favor of software and Internet applications and services. Panelists from incubators join Peter Clarke in debate.
