If it's sponsored by Unesco it's probably nothing more than a public relations exercise. I don't expect anything else from a UN organization.

After I picked my jaw up off my desk from seeing tht list of players I had the same instincts. I thought "Well, maybe at least their scientists can get along." Then I thought again after Sun Tsu came to mind. In other words I can imagine that Israel has strategic interest at play here. Either way, that this will be "interesting" is an understatement.

Great news to have cross cultural science cooperation! Last I checked we are all living on this small planet in the out skirts of the Milkyway galaxy, so might as well learn to live with each other on this rock.

NEXT UPCOMING BROADCAST
In conjunction with unveiling of EE Times’ Silicon 60 list, journalist & Silicon 60 researcher Peter Clarke hosts a conversation on startups in the electronics industry. One of Silicon Valley's great contributions to the world has been the demonstration of how the application of entrepreneurship and venture capital to electronics and semiconductor hardware can create wealth with developments in semiconductors, displays, design automation, MEMS and across the breadth of hardware developments. But in recent years concerns have been raised that traditional venture capital has turned its back on hardware-related startups in favor of software and Internet applications and services. Panelists from incubators join Peter Clarke in debate.
