I couldn't be there so, it was awesome to be able to see and hear Thomas' keynote speech and performance while learning that he himself is responsible in no small way for the technology that delivered his music and imagery to my computer.

Well said Luis Sanchez. I believe you are "spot on" in your assessment.

The question is... if you knew the result beforehand, would you decide not to build the technology? In the case of Dolby's company bringing in the big guys of the music industry with Rich Media Format I see a phenomenon in which the action results backfire. Perhaps technology development has a little bit of nature and untamed side, sometimes hurting the master's hand. Don't you think?

It was a lot of fun hearing a tech savvy musician talk and sing at a keynote!

It is amazing to read the history of technology where yesterday's technological innovations seem like some toy experiments of today. But we must remember those creative minds of yesterday laid that foundation - the digital file format, the TCP/IP and a revolution in the storage media and processing speeds that has made today's connected world possible.

I recently received an email from someone we'll call Martin (because that's his name). Martin's message was short and sweet. In its entirety it read: "You need to see this!"
