So it sounds like the first application of these projectors could be to replace computer screens with small projectors that can create a large display anywhere. A small camera (already incorporated in the smartphone) could be used to monitor the position of a pointing finger and create a full size "touchscreen".

Well, how much luminous ? Operating wattage? how is it different from Many Chinese mobile sets sold across the world ?

Looking forward to see this technology commercialized for all the mobile phones. It will be really cool to project from mobiles.

There is a smartphone picoprojector on the market already, at least for the iPhone. Check out Pop Video, here's a review of it. This thing looks great. http://www.picopros.com/article/review-pop-video-projector-micron

how it compares to DLP technology? Samsung beam mobile with DLP projector, about to be in market, seems to be pretty impressive http://asia.cnet.com/product/samsung-galaxy-beam-45877534.htm
