Just to make sure that everyone knows what Tom Beckley was talking about (Frank Eory obviously does, but I am not quite sure about Peter Clarke): Tom Beckley was talking about a new FastSpice simulator (like UltraSim, see also http://www.semiwiki.com/forum/f141/spice-fast-spice-analog-fast-spice-318.html ) and not about a faster SPICE simulator (like Spectre or APS).
simulate a 29-Gbyte memory in "a matter of hours."I think Spice shines in analog simulation rather than logic. What does it really mean by "speed" if we just use the spice to simulate the logic. BTW, is there any benchmark we can trust? Some said the best spice indeed is the free LTspice easily be downloaded from www.linear.com
Drones are, in essence, flying autonomous vehicles. Pros and cons surrounding drones today might well foreshadow the debate over the development of self-driving cars. In the context of a strongly regulated aviation industry, "self-flying" drones pose a fresh challenge. How safe is it to fly drones in different environments? Should drones be required for visual line of sight – as are piloted airplanes? Join EE Times' Junko Yoshida as she moderates a panel of drone experts.
